E-Cigarette Scam: Vapur

E-Cigarettes are electronic cartridge cigarette type products which the manufacturers claim are a safe alternative to smoking traditional cigarettes. Be warned though that buying e-cigarettes online may be more expensive than you think.

There are ads for e-cigarettes everywhere these days. All talk about how e-cigarettes are safer to smoke than real cigarettes. Or that they are legal to smoke in doors now unlike real smokes. Regardless, they are marketing these devices everywhere.

Like other products sold online, e-cigarettes are sold in a subscription package. When a buyer tries a trial version of the product, they are automatically signed up for recurring shipments of the product until canceled. This is often not mentioned in the advertisements.

A new electronic cigarette is Vapur. Vapur uses ads on popular websites to drive visitors to their advertisement page, generally a story made to look like it is found in a new publication online.

I found the ad for Vapur on a site called "My Blog on How I stopped smoking!". The story was typical.. "we threw out our cigs and started using the Vapur electronic cigarette.. You can too.. go to this link and buy it...".

So I checked the link for Vapur e-cigarettes, after all, the link specifically said "free trial".

I was taken to a sign up page for Vapur which claimed it was normally priced at $139.00. Again, the ad said this was for a free trial. However, before submitting, I read the fine print at the bottom of the ad..

The two week trial period begins immediately when you place your order with us. By placing an order, you agree to pay a non-refundable charge of $9.95 for the shipping and handling costs of sending your trial offer packet,

At the end of the two week trial period you are automatically enrolled in our Electronic Cigarette Cartridge Refill Program (the “Refill Program”). A one-time Refill Program enrollment fee of $89.95 will be collected from the form of payment you used for the shipping and handling charges for the initial two week supply

As a member of the Refill Program, every month we will send you a month’s supply (24 cartridges or around 24 packs of cigarettes depending on individual smoking styles ) to keep you well supplied with electronic cigarette cartridges at the reduced Member’s Only price of $69.99 per month plus $6.95 for S&H

To cancel and avoid additional charges, please call our customer service representatives. Refunds will be given on a case-by-case basis and we will do what it takes to keep you satisfied.

The free trial actually costs $9.95 up front.

Buyers will be billed for the Vapur free trial two weeks after beginning the free trial unless they cancel. They will be billed $89.95.

Buyers will be automatically enrolled in a buying plan which will bill them every month for $69.99 and will keep receiving Vapur e-cigarettes.

Be aware of this if you are thinking about trying e-cigarettes namely the Vapur brand sold online.

E-Cigarette Scam: Smoking Everywhere

The "E Cigarette" craze is everywhere on the Internet. Many of the ads are making claims that "Smoking may not be bad for you" or "E Cigarettes Help You Quit the Habit" and so on.

E Cigarettes are a device which uses an electronic warmer to mimic a real cigarette. A special feature creates vapor which looks like smoke and gives the smoker the illusion of smoking the real thing. Designed like a real cigarette, millions of smokers may suddenly have a device which will allow them to enjoy their habit in public again without bothering others.

OK, that cleared up, what is the Smoking Everywhere product? Another one of these E-Cigarette devices. Smoking Everywhere is being heavily marketed throughout the Internet on websites claiming it can help addicted smokers quit the real stuff with an E Cigarette like Smoking Everywhere.

However, buyers should note that the "free trials" are not exactly free. Buyers have to read the fine print to find out for themselves the real cost of E Cigarettes.

The Website advertising Smoking Everywhere clearly says:

Here's Your Chance To Try Them Out *Free:

But let's read the details marked by the *.

*The 14 day trial offer is designed to display the quality and effectiveness of the Smoking Everywhere E-Cigarette product.

The 14 day trial period starts on the day you place your order and includes processing and transit time.

Upon ordering, you agree to pay the non-refundable $9.95 shipping and handling fees for the free trial offer.

Unless you call customer support to cancel before the end of the 14 day trial period, you will continue with our Cartridges Refill Autoship Program.

14 days from your free trial order date and every 30 days thereafter you will be sent 40 cartridges (8 packs) which equal to 30 day supply of Smoking Everywhere

will be billed the Member's Only price of $49.99 which includes the shipping and handling for the monthly supply.

If you decide to cancel, please send back the Smoking Everywhere E-Cigarette Kit to: Smoking Everywhere 5600 NW 102nd Ave, Suite A. Sunrise, FL 33351

You may cancel your Cartridges Refill Autoship Program by calling Toll Free 1-800-613-0337 Monday thru Friday 9am-9pm Eastern Standard Time or emailing our support department at support@canyouquit.com.

The E Cigarette is very popular right now, but be aware of the fine print and complete charges before ordering.

E-Cigarette Scam: 51

Marketed under the name "51" or "Smoke 51" the Fifty One E Cigarette is being heavily marketed online right now. You have probably seen the ads for "Smoking can be good for you?" or something similar.

There is nothing wrong with this product that I know of. If you wish to purchase it, that is your business.

However, please read the small print much in the same way you should for any other product purchased online such as acai berry weight loss products or teeth whiteners. Those products and the Fifty One cigarette are being marketing in the same way and often with the same look a like websites.

The cost of the Fifty One e cigarette is available on the sales pages if you look and you should if you decide to take advantage of a "free" or "trial" offer.

The ad I saw was on a site for USNews9. There is nothing in the ad which makes any claims not familar to anyone who has tried or researched e cigarettes.

However, the ad does specifically say the following:

Here's Your Chance To Try Them Out Free*:

Notice the *. This takes us to the bottom of the page which reveals the Terms and Conditions the buyer is under if they purchase the Fifty One e cigarette.

*This gives you the opportunity to try Smoke 51 E-Cigarette during a 14 day trial period.

Upon ordering, you agree to pay the non-refundable $9.95 shipping and handling fees for the Free* trial offer.

Unless you call customer support to cancel before the end of the 14 day trial period, you will continue with our Cartridges Refill Autoship Program.

14 days from your Free* trial order date and every 30 days thereafter you will be sent 40 cartridges (8 packs) which equal to 30 day supply of Smoke 51 E-Cigarette

will be billed the Member's Only price of $49.99 which includes the shipping and handling for the monthly supply.

If you decide to cancel, please send back the Smoke 51 E-Cigarette Kit to: Smoke 51 5600 NW 102nd Ave, Suite A. Sunrise, FL 33351 To avoid being charged you must cancel before your 14 day trial period is over.

You may cancel your Cartridges Refill Autoship Program by calling Toll Free* 1-800-613-0337 Monday thru Friday 9am-9pm Eastern Standard Time or emailing our support department at support@smokingeverywhere.com.

If you decide to purchase the Fifty One e-cigarette, be aware of the charges you are responsible for when making this purchase.

E-Cigarette Scam

You have been seeing a number of ads for the new E-Cigarette. What is it?

The E-Cigarette is an electronic device which allows smokers to get their nicotine fix without violating no smoking laws. A clever device, the e-cigarette is a battery powered fake cigarette which "heats" a special cartridge as it delivers nicotine to the smoker through their mouth to the lungs.

A feature added to the e-cigarette produces vapor which looks like smoke but is actually a harmless mist. However, the effect lets the smoker look and feel like they are smoking the real thing.

So what's the scam?

Affiliate marketing has taken hold of the e-cigarette and while that is normally a "good thing" many of the ads for e-cigarettes are hiding the actual terms a buyer will pay for the e-cigarette and the ongoing supply of cartridges for the device.

E-Cigarette Scam will highlight the actual costs of these e-cigarette products, the hidden fees and monthly charges new buyers might be signing up for when they purchase an e-cigarette online.
